I ran for this office to serve the people of Texas and help rebuild the oil and gas industry, which benefits all Texans. Regardless of extreme attacks from leftists who want to put thousands of oilfield workers out of work, we will remain focused on finding ways to create jobs and keep our economy ever-improving for Texas.

As an oil and gas operator who has been in the industry for more than 30 years, I’m fortunate to own four energy-related companies and have affiliations with others. The success of these companies is rooted in my integrity and honesty.

Texas’ success was built by men and women who understood the importance of oil and gas and conservative leadership. As a political outsider, my priority is serving Texans – working for the people of Texas at our state’s biggest economic driver, helping to create jobs, and rebuilding our industry into its rightful place as the world leader in the energy business.

“That’s one of the things that led me to run for this office,” he said in an interview. “If the Railroad Commission had been doing their job, they’d have never let those guys get in that shape.”

The Railroad Commission of Texas

The Railroad Commission of Texas (TXRRC) is the oldest regulatory agency in the state and one of the oldest in the country. Despite its name, the TXRRC no longer regulates railroads.

The TXRRC is the state agency responsible for regulating the exploration and production of oil and natural gas, surface mining, pipeline safety, gas utilities, liquefied petroleum gas (LP-gas), liquefied natural gas (LNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG) safety, and propane marketing in Texas.

Commissioners meet in an open-meeting Conference twice a month and work to ensure that Texas energy resources are produced responsibly.

Texas is Not For Sale!

Anti-industry groups want to take away the very industry that keeps our state atop the world’s leaders in energy production. These anti-industry groups, and unfortunately my opponent, will do just about anything to win a vote for this seat, including spending over $3 million in donations from Mike Bloomberg and his radical cronies on ads that spread these false accusations.

All Texans benefit from the oil and gas industry. As Railroad Commissioner, I’ll work with Chairman Craddick and Commissioner Christian to make sure the industry operates responsibly and does good for Texas!

“The Commission takes our responsibility to protect public safety and the environment very seriously, including our job to plug orphaned wells. The RRC’s State Managed Plugging Program plugged 1,477 in FY 2020. For the last four years, the program has exceeded targets set by the Texas Legislature.”
